Managed aquifer recharge, or artificial recharge is a critical part of Chino Valley’s water resource management strategy.
Treated waste water provides a renewable source of water that can be utilized to recharge the aquifers below Chino Valley. This allows for long-term storage of water for recovery at a future time.
The Town of Chino Valley aquifer recharge facility consists of a
series of infiltration basins located at Old Home Manor. This facility
is currently capable of recharging up to 1 million gallons per day;
however, the facility is expandable up to an annual capacity of 5
million gallons per day.
