[ARCHIVED] Yavapai Regional Transit Service For Veterans

010218_Transit_NEWSFLASH

Yavapai Regional Transit is pleased to announce that, beginning on January 2, 2018, the transit system will be providing rides to any veterans wishing to ride YRT buses, AT NO COST!  The YRT Board of Directors wishes to recognize our veterans for their service to our country in this way. We are asking for your assistance in notifying any of your clients who may benefit from this new policy.

In order to be eligible for the FREE RIDES, veterans will need to show the bus driver his/her state issued driver license or state issued ID card, which has the “VETERAN” designation on the face of the identification. I have attached a sample showing the ONLY two forms of identification that will be accepted. Other forms of veteran identification, such as a NAHCS ID, or an active duty or retired Department of Defense identification, will not be accepted.

The Free Rides for Veterans will be honored every time they board the bus with no restrictions.

If you have questions, please contact Sandy Stutey, Transit Manager, at 928-458-5885 or sstutey@yavapairegionaltransit.com.
